Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery is one of the most comprehensive areas of Dentistry. This specialty is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions, lesions, and pathologies of the oral cavity and related structures. Thus, it is the responsibility of Oral Surgery to diagnose lesions in the head and neck region, such as cysts or tumors, that involve oral structures.

The most commonly performed surgical procedures include extractions (of infected, fractured, impacted teeth, or for orthodontic reasons), surgical removal of lingual and labial frenula, pre-prosthetic surgeries, placement of implants, and removal of cysts and lesions of the oral mucosa.
